TOMÁŠ KAČO – PIANO RECITAL

Romany pianist Tomáš Kačo comes from Nový Jičín, yet his story sounds like an American dream. Tomáš has eleven siblings. In the beginning, he taught himself to play the piano and to make a long story short, we can already tell you now that his is a story with a happy ending. Inspired by his favourite quote “the most powerful weapon is will”, Tomáš has overcome not only all obstacles, but even borders, literally. He settled in New York, where he graduated from Berklee College of Music and in 2018, sold out the famous Carnegie Hall. Apart from his indestructible will, Tomáš has demonstrated above all a marked originality: the mix of classical, Romany and jazz music is his unmistakable brand. His 2018 CD, My Home, inspired tonight’s concert.
