ODE TO JOY

With the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the time has come to dedicate the season to Europe and especially to its ideas. Hence Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Ode to Joy. With an eternal hope for peace among people, for a better understanding between nations. That is why the singers from our neighborhood will come together: from Slovakia, Germany and Austria. Following the concept of the concert seasons, under the direction of the Czech chief conductor Tomáš Brauner, we’ll hear the world premiere of a piece dedicated to Prague, one of the spiritual centers of Europe. This time to the mystical Prague, hidden Prague, Prague beyond Prague. Unsurprisingly, because the composer's pen was in the hands of Jan Ryant Dřízal, a native of Prague, who found inspiration for the name in tarot cards. Arcana can be understood as a life journey. The FOK 2022/2023 season, which we are currently embarking on, is a similar journey.
