HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOSÉ

Yesterday… José Cura the singer, conductor and composer all in one person, sang this iconic Beatles song movingly in Smetana Hall, accompanying himself on the guitar. It was the last day of January 2003. A lot of water has flowed over the dam since then. But throughout this long period, José and the orchestra have remained in lively contact, and recently, when he was our artist in residence, we saw him very often. As José himself says, in recent years, the FOK has been an important part of his life’s journey. A journey that has taken exactly 60 years! It’s worth celebrating. And what will it look like? José will perform his signature opera roles and conduct his new compositions. Come and sing Happy birthday, José with us!
