Mozart & Salieri

May 2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the death of the famous Viennese Italian Antonio Salieri. This will take place in the church where Mozart played the organ and where the Prague Symphony Orchestra plays with its leading players under the direction of the young conductor Jiří Habart. Antonio Salieri and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart were not nearly the rivals portrayed in the Czech director Miloš Forman's film Amadeus or Pushkin's drama Mozart and Salieri. Antonio Salieri actually taught Mozart's son Franz Xaver, as well as Franz Schubert.
