BACH – ST JOHN PASSION

Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. John Passion does not need a lengthy introduction. It's hard to imagine Easter without it. You can't confuse Bach’s music with any other. Listening to it is like going back to a landscape that is familiar and close to our hearts. The crystalline musical purity and the endless stream of harmonies against the background of a dramatic text jointly create moments in which we all hold our breath. So, this year we will together re-visit places we know, but we will try to look at them with different eyes. The semi-staged adaptation by director Matěj Forman will offer us another dimension of the fantastic landscape of Bach's music, inviting us to delve deeper into the drama of the Easter story.

The performance takes place in cooperation with the Forman Brothers Theatre.
