Alexandra Dovgan & Beethoven

Still at the beginning of her international career, Alexandra Dovgan has already established herself as one of the most remarkable pianists of her generation. She makes her Prague Symphony Orchestra debut in Beethoven's First Piano Concerto. In the second half of the programme, conductor Andrey Boreyko – renowned for his interpretations of Shostakovich – returns to PSO with the composer's deeply personal Fifteenth Symphony. An unexpected quotation from Rossini's William Tell Overture creates a fascinating musical link between the opening and closing works of the evening.
